23lb Pike caught by Arul
10 v. 10
A nice Pike for Ryan caught during flooding and rough fishing conditions
Seeing opening night of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' at Shakespeare's Globe (after being closed for more than a year due to the virus). We were mentioned by the New York Times in a relevant article.
Radnor Gardens is one of our favourite fishing spots -- largely because it is only about a 5minute walk from St. Mary's.
We do fly-fishing, sea fishing, and many other activities all over the U.K. and many of our locations are very exclusive.
All the best university societies -- from Harvard to Oxford -- have their own society tartan, and Fishing Society is the only society at St. Mary's with our own tartan approved and registered with the U.K. government.
Colours: blue and white are the colours of St. Mary's and the scarlet line represents the Society and the spirit of adventure, which is the Society's ethos. The design was specifically chosen to represent the idea of network, community, and friendship -- the core values and legacy of the Society.
In 2020 we were awarded 'Best New Society' and 'Most Charitable Society', and in 2021 we took the most awards with 'Society of the Year', 'Most Charitable Society', 'Committee Member of the Year', and 'Campaign of the Year'.
We claim to be the best and most prestigious university fishing society in the United Kingdom.
We challenge any and all other universities to prove us wrong in an official nation wide completion.
